Chinese COVID health pass rug pull

An interesting thing happened in China last month.
Following the ending of COVID lockdowns, people from all over the country attempted to travel to the central province of Henan to protest loss of access to their bank deposits, which had been frozen by (presumably) insolvent local banks.
Only some of them never made it, because their health passes turned red.
What does that mean?
China is using a traffic light system to enforce compliance with COVID mandates. Citizens are forced to use a QR code-based smartphone app linked to a digital ID that records their vaccination status, current location and restrictions based on their current infection status.
Green color means no movement restrictions and free access to society.
Orange means a seven day quarantine.
Red means a two week quarantine complete and loss of permission to move around.
People with red passes are unable to board trains or buses. They are unable access restaurants and shopping centers. Their children are even prevented from going to school.
They are digitally handcuffed, ring-fenced by an electric dog collar that geographically and logistically enforces government edicts on COVID infection control.
But in this situation, the red health pass had nothing to do with COVID, quarantine, contagion or public health. The local government used health pass to opportunistically prevent people gathering to protest a legitimate grievance.
A rug pull of epic proportions.
This is highly unjust, but hardly surprising to those who were paying attention. I previewed as much in Future of the the Bio-Security Police State written last year as we found ourselves living in a Kafkaesque world detached from common sense or scientific reality.
When the QR code surveillance apparatus was being rolled out in the West during the COVID pandemic, it was obvious that such a system could be co-opted for reasons other than those advertised. The events in China prove such abuse is not only possible, but likely.
There are many important lessons to take away.
1) Don’t store your wealth with third party custodians.
As the unfortunate depositors in China found out (and the Canadian truckers before them), money stored in the bank does not belong to you. If you fall foul of authorities, no matter how just your cause or legitimate your petition, you have no recourse.
This hard lesson has also been learned by citizens in countries like Lebanon, Cyprus, Venezuela and Zimbabwe who lost access to bank deposits when the banking system became insolvent.
Not only do not own your money, but your local central bank is actively stealing from you via dilution of your purchasing power as they continue to create new money out of thin air. Central banks continue to print money given the completely unsustainable levels of debt under which their countries and people are burdened.
The solution two twin problems of theft and inflation is Bitcoin. It is a completely neutral form of digital money with a fixed supply that cannot be printed by governments and when taken into personal possession, cannot be arbitrarily seized.
2) Reject the use of centralized digital ID systems that track you and segregate you based on health status (or any other status)
The past two years have taught us that Western governments are holding China up as some sort of aspirational template for a new technologically-controlled society based on complete access to your communications, location and financial transactions.
Governments have demonstrated a willingness to use digital tools to surveil and control people based on the flimsiest of justifications. Viruses, carbon emissions, race, political beliefs, religious beliefs, crime and war are all fair game.
The good news is that for us in the West, the hysteria surrounding COVID has rapidly deflated, and has even started to reverse. Unfortunately, the push towards an all-encompassing digital ID continues in Western countries regardless. It is up to you to refuse to use such tools, and speak out against their deployment, which is inevitably sold ‘for your safety’.
Use services like Signal messenger, Proton and MullvadVPN to prevent the dragnet surveillance of your online life.
And if push comes to shove, move to a liberty respecting jurisdiction before the screws get turned.
At this point if you’re wondering what this has to do with ancestral health, let me remind you that your ability to access the highest quality, nutrient-dense food is currently under assault, both by rising price inflation and a centrally-planned, government-sanctioned corporate agenda to replace your rib eye with grains, soy and insect protein, which sounds highly conspiratorial but is merely re-statment of the goals of Bill Gates, Klaus Schwab and the World Economic Forum.
It’s not too much to imagine a future in which your steak purchase is blocked for exceeding your ‘carbon quota’ or your movement restricted for attending a protest (on the freezing of your bank reserves).
And the last time I checked, living in a digital panopticon isn’t ancestrally appropriate.
